Create - Manage Album Sizes

EDA gives you the ability to create any album size you want (up to 90x60cm) and the flexibility to change the album size at any time.
Regardless of the size you have initially created, you can choose to export your pages in any other size, which falls in the same aspect ratio, from the smallest to the biggest, by simply typing the desired size.

Change Album Aspect ratio

You have created a Rectangle Album with an aspect ratio of 3:2 but your client prefers a Square one with a 2:1 aspect ratio?
No big deal for you! EDA will automatically convert all the pages you have created in the new Aspect ratio, with no image transformation, in a matter of a few minutes, saving you a lot of time and frustration.

Album Styles
The templates of EDA are organized in albums, with every album having its own graphic style. Choose just a single album style (Classic, Modern, Elegant and more) or combine templates from different album styles and create your own style

Choose Albums Storage location

Store your albums anywhere you want, whether on your PC, or on external hard drives and shared folders!

Change Album Properties
The album properties panel allows you to change the album properties you have given to it when you created it, like the name, the date or place of the event etc.

Set Margins
Set the margins you wish to have around the pages of an album.

Import - Organize Images

Import Images

EDA lets you import images directly from your computer or from network connections, removable hard drives and storage media such as CD or DVD. Enable the Autorotation function on your camera and EDA recognizes it the moment the images are imported and all vertical images are being rotated for proper view.
EDA can easily handle a high volume of images, so importing all the images from a wedding that might reach to 2 or 3 thousand images at some times, will cause no problem for it. You can import folders containing images or import single images to add to a Group you already have in your Groups panel.

Smart Image Management

EDA uses a Smart image management to always keep your original images intact, no matter what kind of transformation is applied to them.

*The images imported in EDA are used by reference, so if you import images from external hard drives or removable storage media it is important to connect the external drive to your computer, before you start working.

Review Images
With EDA there is no need for third party software, to review and compare you images. With four, different display modes, (Normal, Viewer, Full Screen & Compare Mode) Half Scale preview, for fast viewing your images and the Magnifier tool, you will quickly select your best shots.

Organize Images
EDA lets you Organize your images in groups and make it easier to find the shots you are looking for.
You can create as many groups as you like and name them accordingly (Bride’s Home, Ceremony e.t.c). The images you move to a new group are removed from the previous group so you are left with just the images you want in each group.

Compare & Assign labels
Use the compare mode to compare images and select your best shots. Assign labels to them, selecting from 3 options: Green labels for your best shots, Yellow labels for the just good and Red labels for the not so good. Then filter them by label and you are ready for creating your layouts.

Create Pages

Color management
The support for diferrent color profiles, others than the standard sRGB used in the previous versions of EDA, is now available. So if you shoot Adobe, Profoto or any other RGB color profile you’ll get proper representation of your images within EDA.

Second Screen support
You can now use a second monitor to move all the secontary forms like the EDA Viewer and the Color Palette and have your first monitor uncluttered, just for
making your layouts.

Graphics Panel
A new panel has been added with the name Graphics. It originally contains tribals but you can add to it any other decorative items that you want to include in your layouts.

New Color Pallete with Color Picker

Add image backgrounds
Assign an image as a page background and change its position and opacity with the appropriate buttons. You can use images from the ones you have imported or use the images already included in EDA, from the backgrounds folder.

Multiple alinment options
EDA offers you many alignment options. You can align the selected layers to each other or to the stage, distribute the space among them and match their size, very easily.

Grid Display
Beyond the many alignment options, EDA also offers you a Grid. The Grid is a visual aid, that will help you check the alignment of layers and can be very useful, especially when you design your own templates. Use its shortcut on the keyboard (Ctrl+G), to turn it On or Off.

Middle Line
The Middle Line is a visual aid of where the page is going to be creased. Use it to avoid putting any important element of an image, like an eye of a person, on this line.

Filter Images
Use the new filtering option to view just the images you want, depending on the labels you have assigned to them or whether you have used them in the album or not.

Magnifier Tool
In EDA there is a Magnifier Tool that allows you to quickly check the quality and sharpness of your images, without the use of zoom in or out buttons. The Magnifier is evident in Import/Organize preview panel and in EDA_ Viewer. You can choose the Magnifier size you prefer and the magnification factor from 100 up to 300 percent.

Multiline text with multiple alignment options
EDA 3.0 now supports multiline text with multiple alignment options. You can add text to any of your pages and select the Font type, the Style, the Color the Opacity and its alignment within the text’s bounding box.

Flip Template

Flip images
Flip images placed on any page horizontally or vertically (or both) using the appropriate buttons.

Flip Page
Another option that EDA is offering you is to flip only the left or the ride side of a page horizontally or vertically

Cut Layers in Pieces
Eda gives you the option of cutting image layers in 2 or 3 equal pieces, horizontally or vertically, and also combine these options to create complicated layouts that would require a lot of time to create in other album applications.

Merge Layers in one
Except from cutting layers in pieces you can also use the Merge option to merge the layers you select in a single layer.

Copy and Paste Properties
Another really useful featured of EDA is the Copy and Paste Properties. It enables you to copy all the features of a single layer, like stroke, shadow, opacity, mask, overlay and paste them to the layer or layers you want on the same page, on another page and even on another album.

Swap images
Hold down the Alt key on your keyboard and you’ll be able to swap images from one layer to another on the page.

Auto Fill Template
Choose the images you want, in the order you want to place them in your page and click the Auto Fill Template button. The images will be placed in the page, in the selected order. If the result does not satisfy you, hold down the Alt key on your keyboard and you’ll be able to swap the images in the page. Or use the new Randomize Images button, as many times as you want, until you get the result you like the most.

Auto Fill Album
The Auto Fill Album option is an amazing feature of EDA that can help you create an album in just a few minutes. Just click on the Auto Fill Album menu and follow the simple steps on the Auto Fill Album Wizard. It’s that easy!

Randomize images
The new Randomize Images button, enables you to exchange the images on a page in random order, as many times as you want, until you get the result you like the most.

Save your own Templates
Create and save your own templates, whether you create them from scratch or by modifying the existing ones. You can choose the folder you want to save them or create your own folders and organizing them the way that you want. For every template you save you can also save a sample page if you choose to.

Save all pages of an album as templates
You have created a page layout on an album that you like a lot and you want to keep for future use. Use this command to automatically save all the pages you have created in this album, as templates.

Change Templates Category
The Change Templates Category form allows you to change the templates you are using, by loading another category in the Templates panel. This way you have access to all the templates included in EDA, regardless of the type of album you have created. The templates you are loading are always adjusted to the aspect ratio of the stage.

Add Stroke
Use the Stroke property to apply stroke to a layer or to many layers at once. You can select the color of the stroke and whether it will be inside or outside the image. Like all other property features of EDA you can add stroke to all the selected layers at the same time, saving you a lot of time of coping and pasting from one layer to another.

Add Shadow
In EDA you can apply shadow to all image layers, text, or graphics and adjust the opacity, the distance, the spread of it and its distance.
